To raise the standard of quality in the solar industry, the Clean Energy Council in Australia has formulated its own accreditation program. It is a must have requirement who are looking to work in the core solar industry and want to design or install solar or battery storage systems.
CEC accreditation aims at recognising and distinguishing people who have undertaken the necessary training to design and install solar, batteries and other renewable energy systems. It is formulated to teach the potential solar installers to work in the industry by following the best practice standards and installing panels that are safe, reliable and meet customer expectations.
Since the solar industry is booming at its best in Australia, the count of installers having CEC accreditation is now more than 8,000 and still counting.
Who Needs A CEC Accreditation?
Clean Energy Council Accreditation is a must for individuals wanting to design or install solar PVs or battery storage systems. By becoming a Clean Energy Council accredited installer, an individual will:
become eligible for incentives such as Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs).
have access to the CEC’s solar technical advice and support line.
have access to webinars, toolbox talks, how to’s and technical information.
stay up-to-date with upcoming changes to industry standards and guidelines.
stay up-to-date with the latest information on product testing from regulator inspections.
be included on the find an installer tool list in the consumer section of CEC website.
have his/her views on standards represented to the standard committee.
support the work of the Clean Energy Council, including advocacy on behalf of the solar and storage industry.
Accreditation and CEC membership are two different concepts. While the prior is available to individuals, the later one is available to businesses.
Also, there’s an Approved Solar Retailer program that is available to qualifying solar and storage retail businesses.
